Preschool and Children's Ministry

Purpose Statement

The Emmanuel Preschool and Children’s Ministry introduces children to scriptural truths and plants seeds of faith at a tender age which produces a future harvest for Christ’s Kingdom. We are planned and purposeful and work with parents to instill Christian values into young hearts by teaching God’s Word to children at age appropriate levels. Our desire is that each child love God, the Son of God, the Spirit of God, the Word of God, the people of God and the things of God.  By focusing on a child we can impact the world.

Visiting

Here are a few things that will help you have a smooth Sunday morning if it’s your first time at Emmanuel.  Plan on arriving 10-15 minutes before the Worship Service begins.  Check in at the Children’s Welcome Counter.  A volunteer will assist you in filling out a short Guest Registration form and then show you and your child to their classroom.  This guest registration has important information including allergies your child might have and how we can reach you in case of an emergency.

  • One of the many things we love about EBC is EBC has always focused on connecting people. Because of life groups, volunteers are consistently able to be in Sunday School rooms every Sunday. Of course, people travel or get sick, but it is very important in our home – for parents and children – that we know who is teaching our children. The curriculum Syd chooses is very good and is age-appropriate. My children have learned a lot from the lessons taught in the Sunday School rooms and continue to amaze me at how much they retain and remember each week. Between us being consistent in attending and participating in church, serving in the children’s department, being involved in a life group and Vacation Bible School, our oldest child accepted Jesus in first grade and was baptized. Our youngest is on the same track. We owe those decisions, that knowledge, that wisdom to God and Syd.

  • EBC has been our home for 10 years and we have experienced many life changes and stages during that time. This church family is encouraging and supportive when it is easy and when it gets tough. We joined EBC right before we had any children and it has been a blessing to watch our kids grow in their faith and love for Jesus and others. Our family has participated in Lifegroups at EBC and they are intimate and intentional. We enjoy AWANA and how purposeful it is in scripture memorization and making it fun. I also had the joy of doing MOPS here which impacted my heart and refreshed my soul to provide my children what they needed but also take the guilt away of not being All they need All the time. We are proud to call EBC our church family and thankful for God providing a body of believers to do life with.

  • EBC means a lot to me. The children's ministry is really good. The games and crafts we do are really fun. Mr. Dave puts on a skit every Sunday morning and usually asks for people to help. The lessons we go over are AWESOME. The teachers are great. Every time I come home from church I feel like I am made anew. Did I mention Syd is amazing!! Thank you EBC.
