IT’S “GAME-ON” 52 SUNDAYS EACH YEAR!
Our programming begins each Sunday morning at 9:30 and lasts until the second service concludes shortly after 12:00. Children experience a Bible lesson, worship, group time and other activities that enhance their learning. It is our goal to know each child and family by face/name and to assist parents in the spiritual growth of their child. We are planned and purposeful in our weekly preparation of classroom materials and lessons for our teacher/volunteers, staffing our department with volunteers that love your children and want to be here each week. Our volunteers commit to your children for a full year so that there is consistency that your child requires to be their best. We treasure each opportunity to assist in the spiritual development of your children. Being an Emmanuel kid might be the most memorable days of your childhood!
A structured, safe, loving environment for all ages:
We staff our department with volunteers that love your children and want to be here each week. It is our goal to know each child and family by face/name and to assist parents in the spiritual growth of their child. The safety of our children is a priority and is managed at several levels; we employ security cards and cameras as well as a minimum of two adult volunteers for each classroom that have had security background checks. The staff and volunteers knowing your family also helps to keep your children safe. Our weekly programming is carefully planned and purposeful to utilize our time with your child for the best outcome. Your child will experience a Bible lesson, worship, group time and other activities that enhance their learning. Emmanuel is THEIR church!
Serving in the Preschool/Children’s area:
Serving in the Emmanuel Preschool and Children’s Ministry area might be too enjoyable to be considered “service”. This is true for many of our volunteers who commit for 1-year to a group of children, and then they just keep adding years of service! The reason many volunteers give for their service is their own personal enjoyment in watching the children grow and the impact they can see in their lives; some children commit their lives to Christ and are baptized while in our department. You must also consider that the children and volunteers get attached to each other and there is a real bond that takes place. Our staff and weekday volunteers also work hard to prepare each classroom and the specific materials needed for each week’s lesson. We use excellent age appropriate materials prepared just for that specific age group and teach Bible lessons with themes and ideas that prepare children to learn about the God who made them and loves them. If you love children and are someone who wants to impact eternity – invest your time in a child!
The materials we use to teach your children – 1-year through 3rd Grade:
Emmanuel children have an opportunity to worship each Sunday in the greater fellowship of their age group. They currently sing, pray and hear a scriptural based message as do our Emmanuel adults. The weekly lesson/message is presented in multiple ways to strengthen its application to each child.
We use materials from The reThink Group (whatisorange.org) that are scripturally based and focused on age appropriate lessons for your children. We are consistent in our approach and teach the truth/certainty of Scripture, the love of God and the saving sacrifice of Christ. Our children worship, pray, study and memorize weekly. Parents appreciate that their children are learning real Bible lessons at such an early age; the teaching is effective and the children take their knowledge home and use/understand their lessons. We have allowed the focus of the teachers to be their relationship with each child and delivery of the material (they are not required to create lessons or crafts – we provide all they need in the classroom).
